Degree Awarding

Students are admitted by Guizhou University according to the national unified undergraduate enrollment plan. Students are simultaneously enrolled at Guizhou University and the University of West Carolina. Students study at Guizhou University for the first three years. Those who meet the standards of the University of West Carolina in the fourth year will study at the University of West Carolina. Students who complete the required credits specified in the talent training program and meet relevant regulations will be awarded a bachelor's degree certificate and degree certificate by Guizhou University, as well as a bachelor's degree certificate by the University of West Carolina. Students who are unable to go abroad in the fourth year will continue their studies at Guizhou University. Those who meet the graduation requirements of Guizhou University will receive a bachelor's degree certificate awarded by Guizhou University.

Training Program

The joint educational program is jointly formulated by the Academic Affairs Office and the School of Big Data and Information Engineering of Guizhou University, as well as the Academic Committee of the University of West Carolina, including the talent training program, curriculum system, teaching syllabus, assessment methods, and standards.

The curriculum design focuses on introducing high-quality educational resources from the United States and organically combining the strengths of the respective disciplines of both universities. The courses offered by the University of West Carolina will be taught in English, with instruction and assessment conducted entirely in English. The professional courses provided by Guizhou University will be taught and assessed in English or bilingual (Chinese and English). Guizhou University and the University of West Carolina will establish a joint educational management office to manage the daily teaching and student affairs of project students in China according to the relevant agreements and regulations of both parties. The University of West Carolina will be responsible for the daily management and student services of students in the United States, ensuring high-quality teaching and excellent learning experiences.

The University of West Carolina is responsible for ensuring the quality and academic standards of the professional courses it provides, as well as implementing corresponding course development, teaching arrangements, credit management, and dispatching personnel to participate in teaching and joint educational project management. At the same time, in order to introduce high-quality academic resources from Guizhou University and improve its own teaching and management level, both parties also acknowledge and determine the integration and use of the professional courses provided by Guizhou University into the teaching, academic evaluation, and management standards of the University of West Carolina through detailed discussions and agreements.
